Myanmar is a new democracy. In 2015, the first openly contested elections were held since 1990, favoring its first non-military president since the military coup of 1962. An opposing party leader was made the essential equivalent of Prime Minister. Aung San Suu Kyi's democracy movement took power after 50 years of military domination. In recent years the world has watched the Rohingya Muslim minority refugee catastrophe unfold. More than 900,000 people have fled Myanmar into neighboring nations with more still coming. Increasingly the international community is using terms such as war crimes and crimes against humanity. In addition, internally displaced ethnic Christian minority groups have experienced increased military attacks. Religious violence has increased for all non-Buddhists.

Praise Report
Praise God for reports that there are hundreds of Rohingya refugees that have become followers of Jesus Christ. Pray for a hundred fold return in this harvest (The Bible, Acts 2:41).

Prayer Requests
The situation for Christian and ethnic minority groups has been bleak for so long with no change on the horizon. Call forth a transformation in the government’s attitude and policies (The Bible, Galatians 6:9).
Pray for the indigenous Christian workers who lead church ministry. May they be strengthened to continue the work of evangelism and discipleship (The Bible, Psalm 27:1).

Call to Salvation
Today we pray for a mighty conviction of sin and a desire to repent and follow Jesus to fall among the military forces in Myanmar (The Bible, 1 Kings 8:47).
