Pray for Bhutan facebook page
Known as “the Land of the Thunder Dragon,” Bhutan prides itself on its elevated “happiness” levels despite being considered a least developed country. Rather than relying on Gross Domestic Product as the leading indicator of the small Himalayan nation’s progress, the late King Wangchuk suggested it should examine its "Gross National Happiness." In South Asia, Bhutan ranks highly in economic freedom and per capita income, and ranks low in corruption. It has almost eradicated all extreme poverty. Yet, Christians are denied employment, free education, and access to electricity and water. Buddhism, mysticism and animism have dominated the country since the 7th century.

Praise Report
Praise God that this traditionally closed nation is opening up to tourism. Pray that more Christian churches and mission agencies will explore ways they can participate in bringing the Gospel into this nation (The Bible, Romans 10:15).

Prayer Requests
As children and young people are more exposed to the global world than previous generations, ask God to protect them from the Evil One, and cause many to be spiritually hungry for truth (The Bible, Isaiah 49:10).
Pray for Christians to share the love, peace and deep joy that they have found in Jesus Christ. Pray that their testimonies speak louder than the Gross National Happiness (The Bible, Psalm 105:1).

Call to Salvation
Father, today we ask for the nation of Bhutan as an inheritance. Please break them free from the dark powers of Buddhism (The Bible, Psalm 2:8).
