Pray for UAE - facebook page

The UAE is a federation of seven states, called emirates, ruled by tribal chiefs called Sheiks or Emirs. The largest and richest of the emirates is Abu Dhabi with significant oil and gas reserves. The development of the oil and financial industries in the UAE has brought fabulous wealth and rapid modernization. Millions of expatriates have come from around the world to work. The pride of status and prestige has its grip on the UAE. The culture is marked by using money to gain personal power and glory. Expo2020 will be held in Dubai in 2020. This is a global event when millions from around the world will come to the UAE. Because Islam dominates public life, Christian converts often lose their inheritance and parental rights, are forced to marry, are fired or are required to work for free. To avoid the death penalty or other penalties, they often feel like they must hide their faith or flee to another country due to fears of persecution. Evangelism is also prohibited, but non-Muslims can worship in dedicated buildings or private homes.

Praise Report
Praise God for the few churches in the UAE trying to meet the demands; especially since it has become harder to use hotels and schools for gatherings (The Bible, Acts 14:27).

Prayer Request
Pray that the key leaders: Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahayan (President), Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President and Prime Minister), and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahayan (Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi) will rule wisely and bring peace and justice to their respective emirates (The Bible, Psalm 2:10).
Pray that Christian converts will reveal their faith in Jesus. Pray that Christian women who convert from Islam and lose their rights to possessions and their children will stay strong (The Bible, Mark 8:35).

Call to Salvation
Pray that the expatriate Christians will demonstrate Christ in their words and deeds with discernment and confidence. Pray that the English, Arabic, Urdu, Filipino and Indian language worship groups and congregations will attract new comers (The Bible, Matthew 5:16)
