The world’s most populous country, China is also the world’s second largest by land area. Chinese expansion was challenged as a dispute developed further with six Asian nations over territory China claimed in the South China Sea. With a focus on nationalism, the Communist government tries to maintain social order by prohibiting large meetings and some social media sites. Mission organizations say that the church is the largest social force in China not controlled by the Communist Party. This year China has drawn international criticism for the treatment of its Muslim minority groups. This year, the authorities have also continued their harshest crack down on Christianity since the cultural revolution. Even the Bible is being “rewritten” to better reflect the government’s communist worldview.

Praise Report
Praise God for Chinese missionaries that are being sent out into neighboring nations to share the Gospel (The Bible, Isaiah 45:22).

Prayer Requests
Bless church leaders with supernatural wisdom in these days. Bless them also with unity with one another (The Bible,1 Corinthians 1:10).
Pray that Chinese Muslims will come to know Jesus Christ like never before in this nation’s history (The Bible, Habakkuk 2:3).

Call to Salvation
Pray for the young generation of Chinese to experience a hunger for truth and freedom that leads them to salvation (The Bible, Luke 6:21).

Tibet is a Himalayan state considered a part of China. Many desire that Tibet be its own country in its own right. China massacred more than a million people in its reinvasion of Tibet many years ago, but freedom has never been restored and tensions remain high. Chinese surveillance in Tibet and of Tibetan people around the world is all-pervasive. This year there are reports of China introducing facial recognition technology to increase its control over its ethnic minorities. Tibet’s exiled Buddhist spiritual leader is the Dalai Lama. He is seen by his followers as a living god, but by China as a separatist threat. With the tacit approval of Chinese authorities, Christian missionaries function freely in Tibet. The Chinese government views Christian missionaries as a counterforce to Tibetan Buddhism and as a boon to the local economy.

Praise Report
Praise God for the relative freedom that Christian missionaries experience in Tibet. Pray that they will have great wisdom and boldness to share the Gospel widely (The Bible, Proverbs 28:1).

Prayer Requests
Pray that Tibetan people will have many opportunities to hear the Gospel through the internet, mobile devices and printed literature (The Bible, John 10:27).
Since there is so little kindness and grace shown towards Tibetan people living in China, pray that the love, kindness and acceptance of Jesus will transform their lives (The Bible, Romans 2:4).

Call to Salvation
Pray for the salvation of the Dalai Lama and many other Buddhist monks (The Bible, Hebrews 2:3).
